Hello Everyone and happy new year!!! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday and we wish you the best in 2011. I spent a few days in NYC this year for new years (No, I did not watch the ball drop in Times Square. I'd rather not feel like i'm crammed in a can of sardines). But- I did have a great time on my trip. Check out the destruction a few hours after Midnight in Times Square:
Crazy Huh?! (They had all this cleaned up by 9:00 am the next morning) I met with a few Realtor® friends in NYC and we talked a bit about Real Estate in Dallas and New York. One thing that really amazed me is how far your real estate dollar can stretch in the DFW Metroplex. NYC is obviously a much older, more populated city. Their Downtown is much larger than Downtown Dallas. But in reality, other than all the Fancy Electronic Billboards that fill up Times Square- Dallas is alot like New York. We have a very vibrant downtown/uptown, great shopping (I wasn't too impressed with the shopping options in NYC), and great places to grab a bite to eat. And best of all, Dallas is for the most part- SPACIOUS! I did enjoy the old school architecture in New York though. But anyone that knows me, knows im more into the new school, cutting edge, Modern Architecture. I felt deprived of my Modern Architecture until I ran into this condo residence in SoHo. Isn't she lovely?! A modern beauty meshed in with traditional NYC. Oh, and have you guys checked on the weather for next week? I think the Cold is following me. Until next time, stay thirsty my friends. Subhi J. Gharbieh Broker/CEO |
